So I turned off my computer like normal once a week to give it a break. The computer itself is less than a year old. I came and turned it back on 24 hours later and it went straight to diagnostic mode inside of windows 8.1. It found a problem and couldn't repair it. After this, I attempted to load one of my saved images and system backups but it couldn't find any of either. Ultimately I have installed 8.1 on a secondary hard drive I have installed after the fact. I can only see one or two files from the old computer, which luckily are papers that I need to turn in for class. I have a great antivirus and have never turned up anything in my daily searches.
My question is, should I re-install 8.1 or purchase 8.0. I have heard of bugs in 8.1 but I hadn't seen anything about this specifically. Has anyone had or heard of this issue? Thanks
