npm browser-sync failing with Visual Studio 2013

There is some conflict on the instructions in how to install browser-sync with npm.

browser-sync websites says you just need to install VS 2013. while node-gyp says you need to install VS 2010, 2012 and the Windows SDK + patch.

I came across node-gyp first so did those steps without success, I've now tried the browser-sync way of just VS 2013, uninstalling VS 2010 and 2012 (but no the Windows SDK + patch)

I now get an error such message of MSB4019: The imported project "C:\Microsoft.Cpp.Default.props" was not found

Others who have had this issue state that installing the SDK patch will solve the issue but this is for Visual Studio 2010...

How do I resolve this and why is it so hard to install this on windows...
