I have an application that makes call to DsQuerySitesByCost function to get costs of available sites. The application worked without errors for some period of time until December 2014. After that I started to receive the 0x6BA error from the function call and this error occurs sporadically - sometimes DsQuerySitesByCost does not return any error, sometimes it does. The problem is being reproduced on several different domains which are not linked to each other (they operate independently). Only few of the DC's return such an error in response to the call, others work good. All domain controllers in these domains have Windows 2008 R2 installed. I have not found any significant errors in the event logs neither on the domain controllers nor on the computers that run my application and it seems that there are no issues in Active Directory infrastructure.
Since I want to ensure that this is not the issue of my application but it is environment based I need to know:
Are there any system tools that make call to DsQuerySitesByCost directly or are there any ways of enabling additional system logging to detect the culprit that causes the issue?
